Mets @ Philly

Post#1 » by Manhattan Project » Mon Aug 27, 2007 6:30 pm

Monday, August 27 Purchase Tickets Citizens Bank Park | 7:05 PM ET
NYM Brian Lawrence, RHP (1-1, 5.57)
Mets (73-56) @ PHI J.D. Durbin, RHP (5-3, 5.44)
Phillies (67-62)

Scouting Report:
Mets: Lawrence kept the Mets in yet another game in his last outing, but that wasn't quite enough opposite Jake Peavy's mastery. He allowed four runs in three separate innings, giving up seven hits but only one for extra bases. While Lawrence hasn't been particularly stellar in any of his four outings, he's pitched well enough to give the Mets a chance to win every one of them.

Phillies: Durbin will make his seventh start of the season in the high-pressure environment of a four-game series against the NL East-leading Mets. The right-hander has performed adequately as a starter (4.43 ERA), but has a 6.75 ERA at Citizens Bank Park. He faced the Mets on June 29, surrendering six runs in 4 2/3 innings.

Tuesday, August 28 Purchase Tickets Citizens Bank Park | 7:05 PM ET
NYM Tom Glavine, LHP (11-6, 4.32)
Mets (73-56) @ PHI Adam Eaton, RHP (9-8, 6.36)
Phillies (67-62)

Scouting Report:
Mets: Glavine tossed his first poor outing in a month on Thursday, giving up six runs and 11 hits in just five innings against the Padres. And while hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park may not be the best of antidotes, he did hold the Phillies to just one run in six innings there earlier this year, despite walking an un-Glavine-like five batters.

Phillies: The starter is still listed as TBA, but Adam Eaton threw a 40-pitch rehab outing at Double-A Reading on Friday, and he is lined up to make the start. The right-hander has struggled this season, but is a different pitcher against the Mets, with a 5-0 record and a 1.89 ERA in five career outings.

Wednesday, August 29 Purchase Tickets Citizens Bank Park | 7:05 PM ET
NYM Oliver Perez, LHP (12-8, 3.34)
Mets (73-56) @ PHI Jamie Moyer, LHP (11-10, 5.16)
Phillies (67-62)

Scouting Report:
Mets: Perez had his best outing since June last Saturday, blanking the Dodgers for seven innings and earning a win for the second straight start. He walked five -- the third time this season he's allowed at least that many free passes -- but allowed just one of those runners to reach second base. Perez hasn't faced Philadelphia since his second start of the year, when he walked seven and didn't make it out of the third inning.

Phillies: The 44-year-old is in a bad place, compiling a 7.27 ERA in five August starts. His latest meltdown came against the Padres on Friday, when he allowed six runs in 4 1/3 innings. The lefty is 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA in two outings vs. the Mets this season.

Thursday, August 30 Purchase Tickets Citizens Bank Park | 1:05 PM ET
NYM Orlando Hernandez, RHP (9-4, 3.07)
Mets (73-56) @ PHI Kyle Lohse, RHP (7-12, 4.47)
Phillies (67-62)

Scouting Report:
Mets: El Duque was again sharp in his last outing, allowing the Dodgers just two runs in seven innings on Saturday night. That marked the right-hander's sixth straight quality start and fourth straight win. The Mets have won each of the last nine game's El Duque has pitched. He'll try to make it 10 against the Phillies, who have scored just two runs off him in 12 innings this year.

Phillies: Lohse turned in his best effort with the Phillies on Saturday, allowing one run in 6 2/3 innings to the Padres. He received a no-decision when the bullpen couldn't hold a 2-1 lead. The right-hander has gone 1-0 with a 3.95 ERA in five starts with the Phillies, and is 0-2 with a 6.61 ERA in three career appearances vs. the Mets.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

Send Mota down already... or send him on his way... take Willie's option to use him away...

We need to take the next game.

lets be real we cant blame that 1 on mota.. our O scored 2 runs against one of the worst pitchers era wise in the mlb and the phillies got every lucky bounce/roll, everything in extra innings.. you cant expect mota to go 2 scoreless innings..

What the hell just happened? First, why the heck would you use Green when he sucks over Gotay? Next, what in the hell are you thinking Anderson? I need a drink or 30...
