Philly @ Shea l Revenge Time

Post#1 » by Manhattan Project » Fri Sep 14, 2007 10:17 pm

Friday, September 14 Purchase Tickets Shea Stadium | 7:10 PM ET
PHI Jamie Moyer, LHP (13-11, 5.23)
Phillies (77-69) @ NYM Tom Glavine, LHP (13-6, 3.95)
Mets (83-62)

Scouting Report:
Phillies: Moyer is hoping for an end to a long rough patch, compiling a 5.92 ERA in his previous 18 games, and allowing 133 hits and 35 walks in 103 1/3 innings. His command issues have been noticable, and his misses around the plate have led to some big innings. The lefty is 6-3 with a 2.89 ERA in 13 career starts vs. the Mets.

Mets: The Mets' winning percentage in the 30 games Glavine has started is .600. The Mets were in first place with the best record in the league through Saturday. Their percentage in the games Glavine hadn't started was .559. The lefty has won his last six decisions and hasn't lost in 12 starts.

Saturday, September 15 Purchase Tickets Shea Stadium | 1:10 PM ET
PHI Kyle Lohse, RHP (8-12, 4.47)
Phillies (77-69) @ NYM Pedro Martinez, RHP (2-0, 1.80)
Mets (83-62)

Scouting Report:
Phillies: The right-hander is 2-0 with a 4.12 ERA with the Phillies, and the team is 6-2 in his eight outings. Lohse is coming off an outing in which he allowed three earned runs in six innings. Not including his debut that ended after an inning when he was hit by a line drive, Lohse has lasted at least six innings in six of the other seven outings.

Mets: Martinez pushed his pitch count to 92 in five scoreless innings against the Astros on Sunday. He wasn't dominant -- six hits and a walk -- but he left nine runners on base by bearing down in critical situations. One of his pitches was measured at 92 mph, but most of his pitches were in the 86-88 range.

Sunday, September 16 Purchase Tickets Shea Stadium | 1:10 PM ET
PHI Adam Eaton, RHP (9-9, 6.31)
Phillies (77-69) @ NYM Oliver Perez, LHP (14-9, 3.42)
Mets (83-62)

Scouting Report:
Phillies: Eaton has been a major disappointment this season, but he's been a superstar against the Mets. The right-hander is 2-0 with a 2.89 ERA in three outings vs. New York this season and 5-0 with a 2.08 ERA for his career. If he continues that trend, he'll help his teammates pull closer to their NL East rivals.

Mets: Perez was dominant in last Monday's win over the Braves, crediting a more stable arm slot for better location. He made just one major mistake -- a two-run home run to Brian McCann -- and escaped with no further damage in seven innings at Shea Stadium. He'll make his second start of the homestand against the Phillies, who have defeated him twice this year in two tries.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

UGH! That frigging ump jobbed us all night...

No matter, we just need to win one game in the next two, and the Phils' chances for the division are all but done.

We lost because of Randolph's stupid ass managerial skills and because of Beltran's great outfield defense.

What a wasted effort by Beltran.
