The Big Question... Would you want A-Rod?

Its a question that is bound to come up if he opts out of his contract which all indications are pointing to. There have been rumors that Wright would move to first. (Then again what does the News and Post know?) A-Rod, Beltran, Wright and Reyes would make the most potent 1-4 hitters in baseball.
However do you want the Mets brass to fork over that contract to him?
Do you want him after his situation with the Yankees?

(forgive me 4 my typos n shortcuts, i messed up my left wrist n usin 1 hand..) i think itd depend on the circumstances, like i wouldnt wanna move reyes or wright 4 him, n i want castillo back so idk where hed play. but as far as politics n him bein a former yank wit postseason troubles,etc.. id still take him any day if the price isnt completely wack and the players dont mind havin a guy like him gettin paid a zillion $$.. bottom line is we have the talent right now to win it all, postseason woes or not, he at least guarantees playoffs and i no ny is ny, but pressure in pinstripes>> pressure in orange n blue imo.. hed also be in a much more laid back and fun environment wit reyes,wright, n every1 jokin around instead of an uptight yankees evironment with all their rules/expectations,george,etcetc

HELL YES. Give A-Rod a blank check (the jet and hotel suite for that matter) - his contract will pay for itself in gate revenue.

I'm torn too. The guy has obvious regular-season talent (:lol:). But I'd much rather use our resources on a front-of-the-rotation young stud.

well mostly the money wed spend on arod(around 300 million most likely) would fill our other needs..im not saying we spend it all this year because we all know johan is a free agent come next year..

I don't agree that he's garbage but what is so special about Melky Cabrera?!? He strikes me as a nice bit/utility player. I think he's overhyped. You'll probably say that Gomez or Milledge aren't special either but they haven't had the same exposure as Melky...

A trade for the Yanks will be tough because the first guys that teams will ask for will be Hughes and Joba. Those are two guys they won't even consider moving for anything. Maybe something like Tabata and Horne, or Tabata and Kennedy is more realistic. That's arguably a top 10 hitting prospect and a top 10 pitching prospect that will be under the Marlins' control for the next 6 years (Kennedy) and the next 8 years or so (Tabata). We all know they don't want to be paying Cabrera over $11 mil next season and we know they will not be re-signing him the year after that.

Like who? I'd like some names. Of course the Yankees could offer Hughes, Joba and Cano, but they won't. Don't tell me Gomez and Milledge, they can't bring back nearly the return that Cano, an elite 2B, can.
And THWS, I don't think Melky is anything special hitting wise right now. But I think he has some upside. His arm is deadly and I think he can hit 20 HRs in his prime.

Melky + Cano would be a steal for the Yankees provided Miggy can lay off the fried cupcakes.
