good then keep him.. we dont need any more players who hit .236 in the postseason for their career and are overpaid.. ill take loducas intangibles over posada any day and at half the price, idc what the stats say

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to make the postseason first??

And I'd love to have Posada back. But Posada runs circles around Loduca, and I have no idea why you guys wouldn't want him.

Yeah, totally. I'd much rather have LoDuca in my locker room yelling "THEY KNOW ENGLISH TOO! INTERVIEW THEM!"

posada played over his head this year. he'll never match those numbers again. why would we want to pay him that much?

Because even in a normal year Posada is in another universe compared to Loduca.

I'm not telling you how great he is, I am making fun of your "I'm sick of being interviewed so I'm going to call out my Spanish speaking teammates btw, my wifes a whore" catcher.

Bottom line is that Posada is 36 years old and the contract he is seeking is just to much at this point. Id much rather resign Lo Duca to a one or two year deal, heck id rather Castro. Posada is coming off one of the best years for a catcher ever you cant overlook that, but he is just to old at this point.

I am alarmed with Posada because of these factors:

He had a GREAT year at 36, IN HIS CONTRACT YEAR, preceded by average "Posada" years.

We're going to have to commit at least 4 years if we sign him, making him 40.

He's got average defense now, but I can't live with him when he will be 40.

I don't trust how he calls games. I like Lo Duca because I think he calls great games.

I'll respectfully take a pass unless the Yankees refuse to give him year #3.
If it takes 3/42 or somewhere in the low 40s to sign him, I'll probably do it. But thats what the Yankees are going to offer him anyway, unless the new Steinbrenners are nuts.

I don't mind going after Whore-Hey. I like Puca marginally better, but I hear there were some issues in the clubhouse. I think Whore-Hey has as much of a winning 'tude that we'd need. BUT, I'm very leery of the 4th year, like many of you. At the very least, I wouldn't mind driving up the price for the Yanks.
