Great deal by you guys but if you thought Reyes antics of jogging to 1B and not giving it his all were bad.......Estrada is pretty up there in that department. He has Lo Duca's negative attitude with the lack of effort.

But he brings a solid bat to the town though, just Willie will have to really do something to get Estrada to play.

Well.. Estrada was always negative, didn't work with all the pitchers, is slow, doesn't hustle and swings at the first pitch too much. But maybe a change of scenery is good for both players.

Man I did like Estrada when he was with the Braves, really showed a nice bat. However I guess I can love with a Estrada/Castro platoon behind the plate. Brewers must have really wanted him gone though for taking on Mota, he is just washed up. He will be good for an out every two outings though...

i like the platoon. i like getting rid of mota.

nice trade.

i do think we may need to sign a 3rd catcher though. so we can use one of them as a PH as well

They were actually considering a non tender with him. He had some meniscus damage that ended the final couple weeks with him last year. He has a history of a clubhouse cancer, doesnt get along with pitchers, calls horrible games, and doesnt give 100%. I personally am shocked we got anythign for him. 4th team in 4 years for Estrada...

Maybe he can break out of this with you guys but eventually his true colors probably will show.

God some people on here :nonono: .

Guillermo Mota is an embarrassment to the organization.

Estrada might be a lazy **** cancer but that sure beats a total loser roider that should have been release in July.

Basically its crap for crap.

Because a guy chose to use steroids doesn't make him a bad person or a bad guy in the clubhouse. Better make sure your pitchers work on their pickoff moves this offseason.

Actually, we got the best of this deal. If the reports are true, the Brewers are on the hook for the remaining 3+ million on Mota's contract. Whereas the Mets could and probably will non-tender Estrada making this essentially a salary dump for us. Omar is god

yes what a cancer, he is the main source for Chirs Capuano's suckiness and also he is the reason Ben Sheets always gets injured.

Meh, Omar has been underwhelming this offseason, so far. I agree with the junk-for-junk sentiment. I'm still waiting for the pitching help...

Estrada was also insurance towards the Milledge trade not going through. And Losing Mota is addition by subtraction. I have no problem with this deal.
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.

Double standard?
