I woudlnt call this robbery at all...

Gomez I loved... just needed more confidence with the bat. THe size is there, just needed to advance with more experience.

Mulvey is a solid prospect.

Guerra has sky high potential and I really liked Humber.

I'm just happy now, hopefully Santana can be a met for the rest of his career, and pitch us hopefully to a championship.

It's robbery. Mulvey is a "solid" prospect in that he has a solid chance to pitch in the back of the rotation. Humber is 25, showed nothing in the minors, showed nothing in the majors, and was overrated from the start. Guerra has sky high potential, but Santana is already better than he will ever be.

Gomez is the best prospect on this list, but I'm sure 10 times out of 10 the Mets would throw some retread out in LF (or whichever position Gomez was going to play) to use Gomez to acquire Santana.

Its a robbery, and I'll be willing to openly admit that as a mets fan. I think the Red Sox package of Lester was much much stronger, Lester is a proven commodity, and he had the track record in the minors to prove it. But hey, it just shows that the Red Sox were only in it as much as the Yankees were.

Seriously, I dont get the hype over Lester. I love the story and everything but I dont see anything special about him unless im missing something.

All I can say is thank you god because now we dont have to depend on Maine/Perez being our number one starter. I honestly feel that with Santana aboard anything less then competing in the World Series is a complete bust.

You got to be happy with what we gave up really, we kept Martinez and got the best pitcher in baseball. No matter the contract we give him it is a great trade for us.

Actually the Twins did feel he had value, but the Yankees didn't want to part with Hughes plus another top prospect.

Lets not kid ourselves the Twins really never wanted Santana in the American League if they traded him. Either way we all knew that Guerra and Gomez are going to be great players. Mulvey/Humber the jury is still out but the potential is there.

Bottom line we got Santana lets not compare all of the packages offered for him, lets rejoice. I believe both teams had a win win for the day.

Mets: Best Pitcher in baseball.
Yanks: No Santana to Sox, Keep Hughes.

Congrats. I would have loved to get Santana but not if we lost Hughes, Kennedy, Melky & a top OF prospect. You guys RAPED the Twins I don't care how much you like the prospects lost.

Santana will dominate the NL.

Back of the rotation pitchers....in the NL.

3rd/4th outfielder.

True story.

I'm really sick and tired of this act here...

Fact is, Yankees declined to trade Hughes, too bad so sad so sorry. What do you want us to do? Ship them Fmart and Pelfrey because no one else had a serious offer?

When will you realize that the Red Sox and Yankees were only in it to prevent each other from getting Santana the last few weeks?
