How's this going to affect our bullpen?

The Pen is Deep.

I don't know, maybe Armas or Lugo could fill in as our long relief guy, don't think he's done much time in the pen. Duque is another option if Pelfrey earns the start.

Ans Schoeneweis is a specialist & all that, but I won't miss him. If we move Schoen, we could keep Register or bring up Stokes or Smith.

Lots of options in the Pen.

Thing is, I don't think we're going to get a whole lot for those 2 guys. Is Omar looking for a temporary first baseman? :-)

who cares, they both are not that good.....joe smith should be good this year, he got worn out last year, and sanchez + heilman are still there with wagz

Nope. Mostly played 2nd Base and was a Pinch Hitter

link - scroll down to the bottom.

he played

5 games at SS
2 games at 3rd.

Easley & Anderson played very limited time at 1B last year. I think, 2 games for Anderson, 3 games for Easley.

The Primary 1B Backup was Shaun (I'm a singles hitter now) Green. Since Green's no longer with the team, this team might be on the lookout for a more reliable backup 1st baseman, but, with the 25 man roster already pretty stacked and a handful of IB prospects in the minors (none of them clearly ready) - it's firmly in the "who knows" category.

IB prospects in the minors:

Mike (I haven't learned to hit lefties yet) Carp - former 1st round pick.

32 year old, Cuban Phenom "The Hit Machine" Michel Abreu (funny thing, the redsox cut him cause he lied about his age), still, he hasn't had AB one in the majors and he's nearly 33. He's also not a good defender.

Nick Evans, maybe a year away, as he was in single A last year, but he might be the best of the bunch. Some think quite highly of him.

and I don't know if Brett Harper is still with the team. He was last year and he did OK. He's the odd man out, having to play a bunch of OF last year with Carp at 1B.

(note, this prospect report is a year old, maybe somebody has a more recent one) - scroll down to 1st Base review.

I know it's a longshot and probably will never happen, but James Loney is the real deal. I'm living in LA and seen a quite bit of him playing, all I have to say is watch out!!

If Omar made a move for him he could probably get something decent for a lower price right now but this kid is gonna be a BALLER!.

Getting both Scott n Jorge out would be great. Get a low prospect for them in a deal. maybe put Collazo in there too jus to make it look better.
