Because of Moises Alou's hernia surgery, the Mets are looking for a replacement.

Scouts identified the Cubs' Matt Murton, Pittsburgh's Xavier Nady, San Diego's Scott Hairston, Oakland's Emil Brown, and Texas' Nelson Cruz as righty-hitting outfielders who could be available.

If you had to pick one of the above players who would it be?

I say bring Nady home!

If this team does get somebody, I'd like sombody who can play 1st base as well as OF. Though Pagan's looked good so far in spring, I don't think it's the worst idea in the world to start him, and I think Church will be ready for opening day too.

Bring back Shaun Green? :D

I'd like Nady too, but Pittsburgh doesn't seem interested in dealing him yet.

I'm listening to Ed Coleman on Mike and The Mad Dog interview and he's saying that Jose Valentin may be the answer. Valentin apparently had a decent day at the plate - and one real good at bat from the right side. And the Mets do love Valentin.
