Look around the league dude, almost every teams 5th starter sucks.

Didn't Steve Trasheal had 15 wins for the Mets whiling having an ERA over 5??

I'm not worried about our fifth starter situation..

El Duque was hitting 90-92 last year consistently during the !summer! months when I assume he was actually fairly healthy. I don't think over winter he lost 10mph on his fastball. He'll get stronger as the season goes, and I would rather him sit out/inactive/spot/ for the first third or quarter of the season and finish strong, rather than what has happened the last two years.

If El Duque can't get it together.. inevitably Pelfrey will get another shot at a few starts. Maybe he can... get it... to...gether..

Sosa is always an option. He didn't pitch too terribly last year as our number 5, but he is a gimmicky as a starting pitcher. Low 90s fastball and 2 sliders... nothing else.

Something will stick, its just a matter of one of the guys getting/finding their rhythm.
