Even if he starts for us, he couldn't suck any more than he sucks right now. Maybe he just doesn't have the mentality to relieve - idk...

He is still valuable.. when Duaner comes back, he'll be even MORE valuable. Don't throw away what he has done for this team the last 2 years. We don't make the NLCS in '06 if it wasn't for his arm, and we definitely don't even win 80 games last year if he wasn't in the pen.

We might not be able to resign him at the end of this year, but hes still a top 10 setup man...

im not gonna discredit anything hes done for us in the past, and im not saying to just "throw him away".. sure he may still have some value, so lets trade him before that value drops even further.. hes clearly not in our starting plans, so lets get some releivers who can hold a lead and on the flip side give him a chance to start since thats what he wants to do... of course hes gonna have good outings and bad outings, all relievers do, but im losing faith in him and im not alone... and this isnt based on just last nights game or just this early season, ive never felt completely safe w/him on the mound (nlcs game 7 anyone?) he gives up waaaay too many hrs for a reliever, and thats a big problem when u only have pretty much 1 inning to contribute to a victory


but while hes still a met ill be rooting for him of course, i just wont feel comfortable while im cheering

He's given us 3 solid years in the pen. I don't see the sense in giving up on him so quick. and I think he's clearly a better bullpen guy than a starter.

eh the callup when he 1 hit the marlins he was lookin decent starting.. the thing im worried about is, he came out and said (according to the FAN) that he STILL after all his success in the pen, wants to start and maybe his heart aint in it atm.. either way there is nooooooooooo way you trade this guy like the op suggested unless its a no-brainer.. thats 70+ innings GONE from our pen, this guys a rubber arm and relievers are up and down every year so you cant just bring someone in to make up for it.. sh*t look at the yanks they got farnsworth, bruney, hawkins and some bums havin to eat innings (ofcourse with two studs to close it off in the 8 and 9, but their rotation is weak as it is).. ill stick wit heilman thx

cant blame heilman for last night... ill put that one on reyes' error... it just sucks that heilman had a chance to get out of the inning w/no runs, had 2 outs and 2 strikes then gives up the hit
