It seems that Lastings is really going to try to make it a point to become a thorn in our side. Hopefully he will be overaggressive against us and we can exploit that. He hit a double, but then was thrown out trying to steal third.

Edit: Lets not forgot the most important theme of the night...

Pelfrey gets into some trouble with bloop/soft hits and loaded the bases with 1 out..

Got Zimmy to pop up and then K'd Nick Johnson with a big swing and miss at the high heat...

Last year Pelfrey melts down in this situation... this year he is trusting his stuff.

Great 1 2 3 inning by Pelfrey...

I love how he is mixing up his fastballs, they've ranged from 90-97 mph...

4 seemer, sinker.. keeping hitters off balance. he is looking good.

to end the frame in the 5th, Pelfrey K's Milledge on a nice swing and miss on a knee high breaking ball (i think slider) on the outside corner... it was a beauty..

SIT DUH FOOQ DOWN milledge.

Pelfrey throwing very well... taking care of business on an offensively inept Nats team. ~75 pitches through 5

This is the kind of confidence we need from Pelfrey. Hopefully, he can stay put throughout the season.

I tried real hard to defend him last year.

But, enough is enough.

He either needs to start or get traded.

Its starting to get a bit disappointing seeing some of the old Met arms doing good, Bannister and Bell for example. I mean whats the deal with Burgos, he has been on the 15 day DL since March no? Heilman would probably fetch some decent value.

welcome back Dirty, we've all missed you.

Dirty doesn't need his fastball .. his changeup, slider, and curveball are still filthy.
