this may be the most boring series ever, neither team is playing well so far.

watch the Mets get no hit by the immortal Darrell Rasner.

we need this more. Willie is close to being on the hot seat and the team needs to come together against the cross town rival. With no A-rod or Posada + we have a stronger rotation we should win the series 2-1 or sweep. Wang will be tough on Sunday.

we need to lose more because if Willie is gonna be fired, the sooner the better

we can't have this linger over our heads for long

I had a big smile when we scored an insurance run over Joba the Turd... I had an even bigger smile when Billy nailed the last out, and just softly half-popped his glove once in the air... Joba would have thrown his glove in the air and celebrated like Orosco in the Series...

How could you hate the Yankees? It's the same thing. NY is NY. Mets could be your fav...but you can't hate the Yankees. It's in your blood, your water...just the same.

I root for all Florida teams.

Forget the Clemens/Piazza business or the world series loss.

It's tradition, just like it is in Chicago.

Back in the old days it was a local thing. Yankees were Bronx, and the Dogers were Brooklyn and I think the Pologrounds (Giants) were Manhattan. It was very regional, most people liked one and you rooted against the other two.

Giants & Dogers moved to Cali, but the Mets moved first to the Pologrounds (Giant's stadium) then Queens and they took some of the old Doger & Giant fans.

Some newer fans like both, my younger brother in fact likes both the mets & yanks, but I don't get it. I've always liked the mets and disliked the Yanks. I even like the Redsox, by default, because I dislike the Yankees. Which is kind of funny cause I hate the Celtics & Patriots.

I understand the regional thing to a degree. I grew up in South Fl, so I root for the Marlins, Panthers and Dolphins. And when I went to a Tampa Bay Lighting-FL Panthers game..I cheered for the Panthers but I didn't hate on the Lighting. In fact, I root for the Rays, Bucs, Jags, Magic etc, even if I don't "cheer" them or watch their games. Cuz when it comes down to it...I'm a Floridian not just a "South Floridian". My region is the whole state.

Now, I'm not saying that's the norm here because at least our teams belong to different cities. Miami Heat...Orlando Magic...we don't name everything after FL. So in these cases, I understand just not giving a crap in general about the other cities' team. But hating on the other cities team!?!?! Makes no sense.

Then we have NY's dilemma of every team being called after the same place. NY Mets, NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Jets. It isn't the "Bronxian" Yankees...it's the NY Yankees. NY! You'd cheer for the Boston Red Sox over the NY Yankees???? Insane.

My father grew up in Queens and his fav teams are the Yankees, Knicks and Giants. Is that the kosher thing? Either way, he also cheers for the Mets, Jets and Nets (hmm...all end in "ets") when they're not facing his favs.

But I dunno, maybe you guys do this so you can have arguments with friends at work or w/e. That's a nice part of sports we have here naturally because half the people living here were born somewhere else. You guys have to artificially create it.

How did you become a knick fan if you lived in Florida your whole life?

Sheesh. Jets fans hate Giants fans. Cubs fans hate White Sox fans. That's the way it is.

Anyway, good weekend... but we're having a terrible week, so far...

It's the only team I "inherited" from my father. I've been a Knicks fan before I ever even cared about other sports.
