ugh. yes lets trade for a player whos a shell of his former self. the only POSSIBLE upside is we might(and i doubt it) be able to get rid of castillo..

Id probably be interested if the Dodgers paid like 75% of his contract then maybe Id consider it. However if we have to eat the entire contract, then thats an easy pass for us. Jones will never be the player he was, but if he rebounds in the middle of the last two years it would be interesting.

i guess he wouldnt be a bad bat off the bench and split time with church but im not trading and having this guy start...and like you said if they pay a majority of his contract i guess it wouldnt hurt to take a look

In his blog for ESPN.com today, Buster Olney writes, “The Dodgers want the Mets to take Jones… and the Mets want the Dodgers to take Castillo… But both sides have kept the porch light on, so to speak, in case the other side blinked and was willing to make their version of the trade, which is not unusual.”

Jones for Castillo seems like a good deal to me, but if the Dodgers liked it, it would have been done already. I'm not sure this one has legs.
