Without a doubt its very frustrating to see our competition getting better. Mean while our big news has been a apology from Omar for losing his cool.

And our farm system is flat out Trash....meanwhile we are in the same division as the Phils who have brought up and developed...

Hammels
Rollins
Victorino
Utley
Howard
Myers

I mean wtf, that whole team is built from within without any BUYING of players, and now they land CLiff Lee just because they can scout and draft good....

Jeez.... :(

Yep, our farm is nothing more than a chicken coop. Let's just C4 the hell out of this Mets roster.

Am I missing something? When did Lee get good? Two good seasons in his entire career is hardly anything special. Last year he was phenomenal, but it was still an anomaly for someone like Lee. Will he help them? Sure. However he is not godsent.

Lee was a top 3-5 pitcher in the league last year
And is a top 5-7 pitcher in the league this year

To say he isnt anything special is a joke...

He is better then anything we have outside of Johan and in all honesty he isnt far from Johan at least not last year and this combined...

Pairing him with Hammells and the best offense in the national league(mostly homegrown) is a slap in the mets face....we keep spending like idiots and have nothing to show for it...

The same way the New York Knicks needed a Donnie Walsh, the New York Mets need a Donnie Walsh to come here, and develop the team the right way, get the drafting and scouting department beefed up, and only spend to sure up your roster as opposed to spend to make your roster....

Lefties that don't overpower batters tend not to impress me much. 284 BAA, nothing special. WHIP is essentially the league average. He is a nice pitcher, but the Phillies struck out. Not getting Halladay when you had the chance is what's odd. Halladay meets the NL is a nightmare for all teams. Making Hamels your number two is a nightmare. Lee don't scare me, but again like I said he will help the Phillies.

Regarding baseball vs basketball, totally different rules apply.

lee is having a good year this year and had a great year last year yet his career era is 4.

do the math, he's a good pitcher no doubt and will definatley help the philths but this isn't some sort of stud pitcher. this is a guy who was demoted to the minors in 2007 because he sucked so badly.
LOL Y U MAD THO?

Well, whatever, if this 'locks' the Phils up for '09 and '10, it still doesn't change the fact that we need to start deconstructing our own team...

Return to New York Mets
