I had to go out to watch game because stupid Cablevision can't seem to get TBS working on my TV. Just my luck that it went out around 6:40. Great game. Phil Hughes is the MVP of the series so far. Matsui snapped out of it and Arod got into it. Wanger on the mound tomorrow, I like our chances. -Jitpal

that is so true, but monday and wednesday are nothing without a win tonight...
I'm just saying it's bad strategy to not factor the future into what you're doing.
It's also a bad idea to start giving Joba a Scott Proctor-level workload. The Joba Rules should change in the playoffs, sure, but the principle behind them shouldn't.

I'm getting picky, but the AP pissed me off with this little nugget in their recap:
You know, he could have gone 4 for 4 with 4 HR and that average would still look bad.
Clearly A-Rod should have gone at least 23-for-4 to redeem himself. Basic statistics fail in the face of clutchness!
With former New York City mayor and current presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani leading the cheering from his front-row seats, Alex Rodriguez stopped his postseason hitless streak at 18 at-bats with a second-inning single and also beat out an infield single.
But he remained in a 6-for-54 (.111) playoff funk with no RBIs dating to his Game 4 home run against Boston three years ago.

We're gonna have to face him eventually. If not today in the Bronx then Wed at Cleveland.
You have to love this though, from ESPN
In Game 4, they'll be dealing with a very hittable opposing pitcher in Paul Byrd, who got shelled in his only start against the Yankees this season (2 IP, 7 ER on Aug. 11). Rather than start C.C. Sabathia, the Indians will go with Byrd on full rest.
The 36-year-old right-hander is what you call someone who pitches to contact; he had the second-worst K/9 rate in the AL among pitchers with 160 IP (4.19). Byrd's problem is that when the Yankees make contact, they tend to do a lot of damage.

This was by far the best professional sporting event i've witnessed in person. If you have never been to a postseason playoff game at the stadium visit www.stubhub.com and spend the $200.

Mo threw 10 pitches, he should be fine.
