When will anyone realize Wilson Betemit is Luis Sojo with a little bit of power? HE IS NOT GOOD

How do you know?

Luis Sojo = career utility player with no power

Betemit has 25-30 HR power. You saw it. The guy strikes out a lot, but he is going to hit for a decent average, he's going to take his walks and he has a lot of power.

He has never got an extended chance to play full-time. Hopefully he'll lose a few pounds this offseason and come to Spring Training more dedicated.

Wrigley would be a very good fit for Arod... he would make love to that stadium with its short left field porch.

kind of like your lefties in yankee stadium...?

Is Arod a lefty? Wasn't that my point??? Lefties have an advantage at Yankee Stadium, righties don't.

Who is arguing that? That's right, no one.

interesting article in todays Post about A Rod & Boras.

And if the Yanks low-ball Rodriguez, he will have enough curiosity/ego/greed/Boras gospel in his ears to opt-out. But my gut says, right now, Rodriguez wants Boras to make it happen at the highest possible price with the Yanks. That is why Boras has opened the imagination to what the Red Sox or Mets or Angels might pay, even if it is just his hypothesis or fantasy. The idea is to get the Yanks to bid, bid, bid when only they can bid.

While I am over just wanting the guy gone at all costs, I don't understand why the Yankees aren't just laughing at the idea of doing anything with him. His contract is so ridiculous right now that the Rangers had to give the Yankees, the Yankees, money to take him off their hands. 10 mil a year. Boras is unbelievable, he really is he actually has the baseball world believing that someone is going to give this guy more money.

It isn't going to be the Mets, they don't need him. The Red Sox wouldn't take him when they could have simply given up Manny to get it done. They couldn't swallow 3-7 mil a year more it would have cost to have ARod now they are going to sign up for 7-10 mil more.

The high water mark for a contract last season was 136 mil for 8 years to Soriano, to the Cubs who have a 75 million dollar 3rd basemen. It is not going to happen and if it does god help who does it and we can trade for him again in two years for 50 cents on the dollar. We can not win the World Series without him as easily as we have not won it with him.

I would rather spend 300 mil on a way to clone David Cone.

What if the Red Sox want to end the Julio Lugo experiment and put Arod at SS?
Let's say even the Orioles look to reset, trade Tejada and get a new SS to pair with Roberts and Markakis?

You don't seriously believe ARod will move back to SS, do you? He hasn't played the position in 4 years, and he didn't exactly get younger over that period of time.
He would make an adequate SS at best. He is a pretty good 3rd baseman. It'd have to be extreme circumstances to move him back to SS.

Sure, his offense would outshine anything any other SS would so, but his defense would probably be not that thrilling.

Yes, he is a great athlete, but SS is at the top of the food chain, and I don't think a switch back is in his plans. The only time I can actually see this happening is if Jeter somehow agrees to move his corpse to 1st or 3rd.

And another note, the Sox will not replace Lugo. If they go after ARod, it will be to replace Lowell.
