Boss' son: Joe we made you

Post#1 » by VinnyTheMick » Sun Oct 21, 2007 1:49 pm

Flashing some of his father's famous feistiness, Hank Steinbrenner fired back yesterday after hearing Joe Torre say he was insulted by the team's offer to manage the Yankees for a 13th season.

"Where was Joe's career in '95 when my dad hired him?" said the new Boss. "My dad was crucified for hiring him.

"Let's not forget what my dad did in giving him that opportunity - and the great team he was handed," Steinbrenner told The Post by phone from Tampa, Fla.

Who the hell was George Steinbrenner before Joe came to town? He was made irrelevant for years due to his meddling and irresponsible spending. It wasn't until George was suspended from baseball when this franchise really took off.

STFU, Hank. What an idiot. Who the hell is Hank Steinbrenner other than a lucky beneficiary of a baseball empire?

I see nothing wrong with these comments given that Joe has taken to badmouthing the organization. Its just a PR game and I wouldn't take this too seriously.
