In the end Cabrera will go for a package similiar to what Texiera went for, a top catching prospect is nothing to sneeze at but not exactly a the ransom some seem to thing Cabrera will land.

Actually no, Carbrera will get a lot more than Texiera because Cabrera is the much better player period. Cabrera is 3 years younger and in his time as a starter he has hit under .320 one time. Texiera has hit over .300 twice in a season and his all time high was .306. Meanwhile Cabrera is only 24 and a full 3 years younger than Texiera. Cabrera can still get much much better. You cannot say that about Texiera.

You pretty much completely ignored what I said.

There wasn't anything else I needed to say.

Nobody cares about their batting avg. You have two guys both with 5 years in the league, Cabrera has an OPS of .930 for his career and .966 last season Texiera has a .910 for his career and .963 last season. Also a tad ironic is the fact that Texiera joined the pitching starved NL East and his numbers took off. Beyond that Texiara is a gold glove first basemen and not fat.

Jorge Posada had a career year at 36 years old everybody can get better as long as you continue to work hard which most feel Cabrera will not do.

None of that matters because no team is going to give up the farm for a guy they have to turn around and give 200 mil bucks to there is no point, he can just ride it out for a year in Miami. He is young and apparently doesn't care all that much.
