so u care more about the regular season then the playoffs and winning it all?????? i really dont get it WHO CARES how many games arod won for us. what did soriano do we won 89 gms and we would STILL WIN IT ALL so if u care more about the regular season then the playoffs go won another sport

Okay, so lets trade ARod for Scott Spezio. Seriously, the playoffs are a crapshoot, and you're fooling yourself if you think 12 ABs in a playoff series dictates how good a player is, as opposed to 600 ABs in the regular season.

Without ARod winning us 20 games in the regular season, we don't sniff the playoffs. So what is the clutch Scott Spezio going to do for you in the postseason if you don't get there? Lets not act like the season is whoever can win 11 games in October. There are 6 months prior to that which you need to be really good, and without ARod, we wouldn't have been good enough last season. Does he have to produce in the postseason? That's a no brainer. But so do the other 8 guys in the lineup, don't forget that at one point in the ALDS this year we were 8 for 70 at the plate. ARod is not the cause for our postseason failures, but he practically IS the reason we even made the postseason.

You don't get it because you don't want to get it. Without Arod, we don't even make the playoffs this past season. Are you really trying to say that you would rather miss the playoffs entirely than make the playoffs & lose?

can i tell u what i think the best player in baseball is. a player whos does good in the regular season and THE PLAYOFFS and who wins a championships not a player who only does good in the regular season. but wait i forgot u people only care about the regular season then the playoffs

I didn't want A-Rod back but this is the one way I'd have accepted him back. I would have never forgiven the Yanks if they were the ones to blink. They weren't and so they don't lose any respect in my eyes. Its one thing to fight to protect your honor but for the Yankees to reject A-Rod's seemingly real attempt at reconciliation it would have been really petty. Lets face it, it was in the best interests of both sides to make this work. With the Yankees out of the picture and Miguel Cabrera on the market A-Rod would have been hard pressed to find someone willing to pay the price for his services. The Yankees were faced with the choice of trading all their best prospects for a player who might one day develop into an A-Rod type player if he ever got over his disiciple issues or overpay financially for an aging stop gap in Lowell.
