Just look at Ichiro today. He has a great physique and his body looks like the one from a 20 year old. No signs of wear and tear at all.
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

Too bad he wife convinced him to re-up with the Mariners, a team which sucks and basically looks like it will still suck for at least several more years.

It's not like Yankees are desparate for outfielders, but I'm thinking if he wanted to come over, they wouldn't have resigned Abreu, which would have been fine with me, as Yankees would have acquired another top of the order guy with speed and better D, while power is not really an issue for Yankees. Damon would retain his spot as 4th outfielder, occasional DH. Or they could have shifted Ich to Center, resigned Abreu for one year and feel more free to deal Melky.

All last year me and my friend were doing the "What if Ichiro came to the Yankees and wouldn't this guy fit right in...." especially after every time Abreu loped casually after a ball in the RF corner

Yes. I think Ichiro is overrated. Granted he's a better all-around player than Damon but I'd rather have Damon for 2 years than Ichiro for 5 years at near $20 million a year in his decline.

the bold part the only part that make since, the rest is just crazy,
come on now Ichiro is not overrated.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.
