i know hes young and still on the cheap for Tampa Bay who have shown so far this offseason that their focuz is on pitching....but he seems like he will be "the one that gets away", when it comes to Free Agency

do you think Tampa Bay would be willing to trade him?

do you think the yanks package with IPK as the centerpiece could be enough to land the young lefty???

this kid is a stud and owns the red sox

i think The Rays would be willing to trade him, i dont think theyd trade him to NY tho.

as far as a package for him, id think TB would consider a package of Kennedy/Horne/ + one more but i still dont think theyd trade within the division

You're starting with Hughes, end of story. If they are trading an electric, young, cost controlled pitcher within their division, Hughes and Cano are coming their way. Any trade offer that doesn't start with Hughes isn't worth the energy to type.

I don't think you guys match up real well with the DevilDogs. They have three young pitchers in Kazmir/Garza/Shields and they have a litter of young, high upside pitchers in the minors with Price, McGee, Niemann. The Yankees don't have a lot of high upside position players in the minors. Jackson and Tabata are the two best but they still have some question marks and Tampa has a lot of OFs too. Catcher and perhaps middle infielders is what they would be looking for upgrades at. mahalo

Kazmir > Santana in trade value because...

- much, much younger
- much, much, much, much cheaper
- arb-controlled for much, much longer
- almost as good already

Tampa and the Yanks aren't making any trades of significance.
