No way do I want Bonds.

It was one bad pitch, that unfortunately looks like will lose us the game.

I also hate Posada at first, cost us that DP. That's Girardi's fault.

Another bum lefty that has shut us down... add him to the list of Jon Lester and Oliver Perez, and I'm sure there is more...

This team has 4 DH's, Bonds is NOT the answer. What IS the answer is Jeter, Abreu, Cano, Melky, and Posada hitting up to their capabilities and a healthy Damon and Matsui.

Richie Sexson is available now. Buster Olney said on 1050 today that he thought the Yanks would be interested. I know that he is not a real good player anymore, but he would help this pathetic bench. He could be a threat off the bench and play first against the tough lefties. He supposedly had pretty good numbers still against lefties and maybe would help balance the lineup.

It could be a pickup kind of like Strawberry was back in '96. Just someone to help hit these lefties that kill us.
All-Time Draft

PG- Oscar Robertson/Bob Cousy
SG- Earl Monroe/James Harden/Dana Barros
SF- Billy Cunningham/Michael Finley/Chet Walker
PF- Elvin Hayes/Dolph Schayes/Tom Chambers/Danny Manning
C- Walt Bellamy/Neil Johnston/Darryl Dawkins

Both Matsui and Damon are back right after the AS break, its not like their injuries are long term.

I think we should go after Mark Teixeira personally. It's said there hasn't been a whole lot of interest, but we could really use him.

Bonds isn't the answer. We have enough hitters who can't play the field. Plus, the media circus would be a distraction. We already have AROD doing his fair share.

We've been winning games, but the offense is still slumping. 2 runs isn't going to win many games.

Here's a stat: 31 times this season the Yankees have been held to two runs or less. That's crazy...

Even with the past 4 wins, they haven't been hitting at all. This has been the problem the last couple of years in the playoffs..can't hit when it counted.

Im just amazed how this offense is so mediocre..boggles the mind, i tell you.

Yup, and the crazier part of that stat is I believe it happened only 33 times last season to put it into perspective.

Teixeira has to be a target, we can let Giambi go and have a real 1B in Teixeira. The draft picks we lose by signing Teixeira would be gained back from whoever signs Giambi, who at this pace is going to be a type A free agent so that is moot.

I think Teixeira makes a lot of sense. He's in the age group where he could bridge the gap from our old core (Jeter, ARod, Posda, etc.) to the new core (AJax, Montero, Tabata, etc.) and keep us competitive. His contract length could be an issue, but you'd have to figure that his last years would put him around the age of 35 and that's where our old core is at right now, except that a lot of them have 2+ seasons left on their deal. Plus, I don't think it's a problem. However, I think it is when you have 5 or 6 high paid mid-thirty everyday guys like we do at the moment.
