Nick Swisher

Post#1 » by HCYanks » Mon Jun 15, 2009 6:07 am

This Holy thread is dedicated to our Lord and Savior, Nick the Swisher.

If you doubted his plate discipline, come now, your sins will be forgiven.

If you doubted he would outperform Xavier Nady this season, come now, your sins will be forgiven.

If you still now obsess over batting average and believe Robinson Cano to be the superior hitter, come now, and accept your wrongness. Our good Lord Swish will accept your troubles in His name.

No need to mention Cano because to be honest, in a do or die situation I'd rather have Cano at the plate.

I do love swishers OBP though. I find it hilarious that Abreu was our #3 hitter for all of last year and Swisher is the better player in everyway except for BA and he bats 8th in our lineup.

I love what Swisher brings (except for his crummy base running). He grinds out at bats, is pretty good in the field, and when he's hot, he can carry an offense.

Swisher has been a pleasant surprise and you have to applaud how he goes about his business (quite and disciplined).

+1 He's been a good pickup for them so far, his offense has been a welcome addition while others have struggled to get going.

considering all the money that we wasted this past off season Swisher is probably the one who has had the biggest impact on the team. He is a great player. Will be good to see if he can help us in the postseason
