Also keep in mind, Mo didn't put those men on. He inherited and it's not like he gave up a pitch to a .226 hitter.
Carlos Quentin is nasty. Girardi put in Mo because he wanted someone with more experience. You can live with 1 run but you can't risk a 3 run bomb. Hughes wasn't really that sharp. He got away with a pitch down the pipe against Konerko who fouled off a 94 mph heater. Quentin won't fall for that ****.
It's important that the 7-9 hitters produce because in a TIGHT opening round series, you don't know where the run production is going to come from.

WTF? Before giving up 1 single yesterday and allowing a run that was not even earned, this is what Mo has done since June 12th, almost two full months:
16.2 innings
4 hits
0 runs
2 walks
17 Ks
0.00 ERA
0.35 WHIP
Yeah, he just doesn't have it...

If there is ANY slim criticism with Mariano Rivera, he's not very good in tie games. For whatever, he's mortal in tie games but with a slim lead, bases loaded, and no one out...he has another gear that kicks in.
