What's the deal with Adam Bailey? I don't know much about him, but why won't he sign?

He was apparently upset about not being drafted earlier than 38th round. He's told Nebraska he'll be coming back for his senior year.

Not yet, but he and Murphy are likely done deals. However, since they are overslot the commissioner's office is keeping them on his desk for approval until the deadline which is in less than 10 days.

3 days away from the deadline, and we still haven't signed Heathcott?

Selig loves to hold the overslot deals on his desk until the deadline.

Heathcott and Murphy are signed

Stoneburner has signed

Looks like Cotham may be signed

Lyons may be returning to Ok St., which would suck since he is a power lefty arm and dominated the Cape Cod League

Aaron Meade looks like he will not be signing

http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/?p=1608

The Yankees have signed Vanderbilt righthander Caleb Cotham for $675,000. His bonus is $5,000 short of the highest in the fifth round this year (Jeff Malm, Rays) and is more than four times MLB’s $149,400 recommendation for his draft slot (No. 165).

A draft-eligible sophomore, Cotham boosted his stock by not allowing a run in 13 innings this summer with the Cape Cod League’s Brewster Whitecaps. After being bothered by a sore knee during the spring, he pitched at 91-94 mph with his fastball and flashed a plus slider on the Cape.

The list is updated and final, the Yankees signed 27 of the 50 draftees.

Here is a breakdown of the signed players
6 college RHP - Warren, Cotham, Black, Stoneburner, Greene, Watkins
3 college LHP - Elam, Brooks, Hall
3 HS RHP - Gerritse, Mitchell, Checo
1 HS LHP - DeLuca
5 college OF - Medchill, Mack, Talerico, Milo, Brown
2 HS OF - Heathcott, Golson
2 college catchers - Rabago, Farnham
1 HS catcher - Murphy
1 college 1B - Murton
1 college 2B - Harrow
2 college 3B - Lyerly, Mahoney

DeLuca was an awesome signing, 44th round pick not expected to sign being a HS lefty, but the Yankees won him over with a $500,000 bonus. He throws in the mid 90s already and has a lot of potential, definitely one to watch.

Murphy will report to the Gulf Coast League Yankees and play for the team through the regular season and any playoff games. He’ll then return home before reporting to Instructional League in the middle of September. After a few weeks in the league, he’ll travel with some other recent signees of the Yankees to a winter league in the Dominican Republic.

He's listed as a catcher but it seems like the plan was for him to play OF at Miami had he not signed with the Yanks. So I'd imagine he's not necessarily going to be a catcher going forward is he?
