Kinda OT: Is Matsui putting his career in danger to.....

Post#1 » by VinnyTheMick » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:28 am

Prove Cashman & the Yankees wrong? I just read the wiretap headline saying Matsui is confident he could eventually play the outfield once every couple days. Is he nuts? Its like a guy on MLB Network said (can't recall who but it was on Hot Stove)

"His knees are like 2 toothaches when he runs."

So how long could he last without blowing one or both knees out? Why is he even bothering? His numbers we great last year so it isn't like he is one of those players that dislike batting DH because they need to "be in rhythm" to hit well.

It is out of spite? How big of a hit did his ego suffer? He will always be recognized as a Yankee & it sucks to think their relationship would be tarnished long term by this.

ive read reports that they thought he might have to retire b/c of his knees and t hat there was a chance he couldnt make it through last season

the yanks have his medical file, and if their docs say his knees are done, then we must trust them

You'll all regret it when we face the angels in the playoffs and Matsui is coming up with clutch hit after clutch hits against us.

I meant the people that say it was the right move letting him go.

Matsui's still a dangerous hitter, him playing the outfield is a joke though, he can't and shouldn't.
