then tex gets a cheap infield chopper hit... LOL.. this guy is not swinging the bat well at all..

tex should really have his eyes checked out....for a "good" hitter, Ive never seen anyone hack at the bad stuff like he is

the R Sox have gained like 5 games on us in like 5 days, just pathetic

yea, I mean the sox are like 2.5 games behind us now.. but they play the rays, if we just keep winning we will either gain on the rays or seperate from the sox even more.. so right now it is on us to just win games..

I also agree about gardner.. good and pesky hitter with great speed, but no power and not a big RBI guy.. we need to move him down in the order a bit.. but where?

I agree about Gardener but where can he be moved to? At least he's been making the most of his weak bat. We need Granderson, Posada and the real Tex ASAP.

considering how ajax is doing in Det, granderson needs to come back and be on fire

gardner is a 9 hitter, he has no business at 2 spot

yea, when we get granderson back gardner will strenthen the bottom of the lineup where a guy with his speed but lack of power belong...

Granderson started the season off hot, if he can regain that form, we will be in business..

the thing with gardner he is a GREAT contact hitter and he is not making outs.. he is batting over .300 and doesn't strike out much and puts the ball in play.. again, dropping him in the lineup is going to be tough...

granderson was hitting an awful .225 when he went on the DL

meanwhile Ajax is hitting 337 with a 393 obp

granderson needs to come out on fire, people said he has the potential to hit 40 homeruns cuz of our small porch, well he needs to do that pace (adjusted for the time he missed on injury list)

And who else would you rather bat at 2? If Tex and A-Rod were hitting better you would have no problem with Gardner in the #2 hole because he gets on base and has the speed to score at any time, they just aren't hitting the ball very well right now though. If you move Swisher to the #2 hole then 6-9 consists of Cervelli, Thames (Russo), Winn, Gardner. If/when the team gets healthier and the clutch hits and runs will start to pile up. It's just a matter of time.

People are just overreacting because the Rays are playing damn good baseball and the Yanks are playing bench players 7 through 9. The Yankees are 1 game better this year then they were last year on May 24th, and that's with the team being plagued with injuries for over a month and the toughest part of their schedule behind them. Last year they only had A-Rod out for a significant amount of time during the first month or so. They are just about to finish the toughest part of their schedule, with Minnesota ending the stretch. Take a look at their last 7 series: @ Boston (3 games), @ Det (4 games), Minnesota (3 games), Boston and Tampa for 2 games, 3 @ the Mets, and @ Minnesota for another 3 games. That's a pretty rough stretch.

What?
Gardner is one of the fastest players in baseball, he always hits for contact, and he is great at getting on base. Also, he is very selective, and adds to the pitch count. If anything, he should be batting leadoff. Especially when he's hitting like he is now.

It doesn't even take a 1/4 of a season to go by before people jump on Tex. Well guess what, if Tex wasn't on the team last year the Yankees don't win a world series. He isn't swinging the bat well right now, I think we all know that, and I think we all realize he isn't going to be this bad all season. He is an all-star caliber player, he will turn it around.

And I have no idea what "he just feasts off the easy prey" is supposed to mean.

And he has a .344 OBP as a #9 hitter, which he's going to (or should be) hitting at when everybody comes back healthy. That puts him at 3rd in the league for players who have batted #9 and had more then 50 PA.
