So what happens with Nick Johnson now? If he comes back healthy and can contribute does he make the playoff roster as a late game PH? Him and Berkman are a bit redundant, but NJ is certainly a better hitter then some of the bench players like Pena who won't see any time unless one of the IF'ers gets hurt. Girardi can't take Thames off the playoff roster with his ability to hit lefties.

You need a pinch-runner..... I don't think Thames makes the playoff squad.
