Well I certainly consider it and make the right phone calls, but I'm sure the Royals will want a fortune for him. I don't know that he's worth what the demand in prospects will be. They'll be looking for a 4-5 player package that can help them now and down the road. If he bounces back to his Cy Young year, then he's worth it, but there's no guarantee he will, nor that he can perform on the big stage.

This doesn't really change anything. The Royals were supposedly going to move him anyway. The two biggest factors were gutting the farm system and Greinke's mental condition. I don't think this makes Kansas City take any less in a package since there are enough teams to bid and I don't think this makes it easier for him to handle NY. -Jitpal
