this is pathetic
that jeter contract is looking very bad
ownership needs to show it is in charge, it can do so by DFA posada now

Money is irrevelent when you are the Yankees. If you're measuring money, might as well throw in Tex and A-Rod in there as well...when was the last time either of those guys hit a homer seeing how their averages are below Jeter.
The real issue is whether or not catching once every 5 games will take Posada's mind off of hitting. I believe it does but unfortunately I don't know how you find a game that can afford Posada behind the plate.
Jeter and Posada are close and it's no surprise much how Ortiz always stood up for Manny. Most of this is overblown...and I suggest management the snake Levine, the rodent Cashman, and "Bean Counter" Hal take a chill pill and let Girardi steer the ship.

I expect the Yankees to give Posada a 3 year, 51 million dollar extension with a player option for a 4th year. Then he'll stop complaining.
The season is over folks. Who wants to watch Teixiera and ARod stink it up for 35+ million dollars a year? Time to start watching lacrosse, or a fly crawling on Hank Steinbrenner's nose. Either event would be more interesting than the pathetic spectacle we are watching now.
