While most of the attention will be drawn to the return of Derek Sanderson Jeter, take a moment to contemplate that George Steinbrenner, native of Ohio and OSU grad, wanted to buy the Indians but was blocked from purchasing the team.
It was then, when CBS had effectively ran the Yankees franchise into the ground that he was able to make arguably the steal of the century.
The Yanks are the greatest franchise in baseball. One Albert Belle later, the Cleveland Indians are a great story but it's too bad that it's too busy whining about Lebron to fully appreciate how this team has gone from worst to in contention.
Tonight, AJ hopes to gather himself and continue his brilliance from the last start, followed by CC, and the return of Philip Hughes...
We can do this Yankee fans. We still have a GREAT team despite the flaws.

Too much will be made of Jeter going 0-4 when the real story should be:
1. What was AJ doing, serving up a fat one to Austin Kearns who is hitting below the Mendoza?
2. Mo is reporting feeling tender...and knowing how touch Mo is, um how long has he been ailing? 41 yr old who is more durable than the entire pen save Robertson. Really starting to concern me because more than any other player, without Rivera the Yanks don't win.

It's CC time again, the guy just turns it up when summer comes around. The fact that CJ Wilson made the ASG over him is a joke.

Who cares?!?! Anyone care how many SF Giants & Texas Rangers made it last year?
The All-Star game is a flawed voting method for something that counts in the WS. Resting players is a better alternative and last season, CC was so overworked that by October he wasn't quite as sharp (see two atrocious games in Texas)...
What is significant about tonight's game is the run support that CC gets from his players and the Yanks won the game.
I am STILL...very nervous about a depleted pen and Mo's soreness.

Yeah, the run support combined with CC going deep let the pen be put to minimal use and that's the big thing. I do wonder if CC's performance was a bit more inspired by the snub though, kind of a nice way of saying "yeah I belonged" when you rack up K's and make lefties look lost all game.

Once again, why the @$#@$ is Sergio Mitre even on this team? The guy is the ultimate game icer for the opposition. This guy must have something on Cashman...he keeps coming back to this team no matter how many times he's released or traded.
Can't we send this clown down and bring up Nova?
Hughes struggled but he's going to need 3-4 starts to properly acclimate himself. Wasn't a bad debut but not something I hope to see more of in the next start. I do believe he can be a starter in this league. I just really, prefer his starts be more spaced out and keep Nova in the rotation.

What was the highest and the consistent number for Hughes on the radar gun?

I'll be honest. I caught the last four innings...and highlights. So I don't know how his velocity was.

I only watched a few inning but from what I saw he was around 91, don't know what he topped out at.
