Speculation: Kershaw to Yankees

Post#1 » by Buttah304 » Sat Jul 9, 2011 5:20 pm

Now before everyone goes nuts and starts saying that there is no chance he could become a Yankee, you have to take many things under consideration:

1.) Steve Garvey was fired by the team for his public attempts to buy out owner Frank McCourt

2.) A Delaware judge denied a request by the Los Angeles Dodgers to order MLB to turn over documents in the team’s bankruptcy case

3.) Attendance is down nearly 20 percent from last year

***Bottom line is this situation is an absolute mess and gets uglier and uglier by the day. I realize Kershaw is a stud (leads the league in K's and is going for his 3rd straight season with an ERA under 3), but I honestly think he can be had.

The Yankees currently have 3 of the top 50 minor league prospects and with Nova pitching well this year (8-4), I think there is a chance we can make a play for him. At the end of the day us giving them a call and seeing if something could happen would not hurt.

Yea...the only way the Yanks get Kershaw is if they pay the Dodger's debts. I'd rather bring the team back to Brooklyn. F$%k you LA.

MLB would never trade Kershaw, Kemp or Ethier as they are the three most marketable players for that franchise. They need to keep the valuable assets in order for the team to be attractive to potential buyers.

As much as any of us would love to have him, the odds of this happening are slim to none now that the MLB controls the team.
