So if the Yanks are serious and especially if they start handing out their top prospects they better make sure that Jiminez has the mental makeup for NY so that he doesn't turn into the next Javier Vazquez (the first go around), Jeff Weaver, etc. Talented and highly productive young pitchers prior to coming to NY that simply bombed here (largely on account of the pressure and spotlight) and has never been the same.
i think NY will be punting this year
stand pat at the dealine
probably make the POs but not the WS
i just dont see cash letting montero, dellin, manny go, as they are the next core for the future
Yeah, it really does seem that Cashman has become extremely, extremely, extremely adverse to trading the Yankees top prospects. Even during the Cliff Lee trade talk you really didn't get a sense that Cashman was willing to give up too many top prospects and that it was almost like pulling teeth to get them to even include Montero.
It'll be interesting to see what the Yankees do in the offseason though via FA. Don't recall any big names (not pitchers anyways).
