maybe, but I'd hope that there were better options out there. I really soured on him after the 2000 WS (I really hope I'm remembering this right, but I just have PTSD like flashbacks of Sori swinging recklessly at everything and being a strike-out machine).

In a second. He's be a great spark to our club, and we wouldn't have to give up big time prospects to get him. If they are willing to eat a lot of his salary so they can let Colvin re-up with the squad I'd be all for it.

Problem with him as DH is that the Yanks have a plethora of guys that appear to be earmarked for DH in the near future (ARod, Jeter, Montero) that are either under contract for a long time (ARod and Jeter) or are top prospects.

Cubs would have to be willing to eat a pretty sizeable chunk of his remaining salary to have the Yankees be willing to take him back.

Soriano is basically a DH at this point in his career...subpar fielding, no longer a threat on the bases and basically swing or miss, all or nothing type at the plate.

If he just had one or maybe two years left and the Cubs were willing to eat a healthy portion of his contract then sure but he's got 3 years left on his contract I believe. That's a long time.
