Shelley Duncan

Post#1 » by 34Celtic » Sat May 26, 2007 10:17 pm

I was poking around on Scranton's website and Shelley Duncan is at .331 10 HR 34 RBI with an OPS of 1.060. I've never seen him play and realize that at 28 hes not much of a prospect, but why not give him some starts at first base....he cant do worse than Phelps.

STILL or anyone have a scouting report on him?

Shelly Phelps is one of those AAAA guys. He'll hit Triple A pitching, but he'll struggle hitting breaking balls and that is what he is going to get for lunch here in the majors.

He's really nothing special. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give him a try, but he's not a long term solution.

something might be brewing because Shelly Duncan was playing RF yesterday. There might be a trade coming soon.

Not really. They've put Shelley Duncan in the outfield before. They have a logjam of first basemen in Scranton with Andy Phillips, Eric Duncan and Shelly Duncan. Scranton is trying to get them all at-bats, and Shelly is the only guy who can play the outfield.

from everyone that was speaking about it they said Eric is still not 100% healthy so Shelly should have been at 1B it does raise a few eyebrows.

Cashman was quoted last year saying he is like Richie Sexson.
