Yanks (76-68) @ Baltimore (77-66): Fading fast

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Tue Sep 10, 2013 8:18 am

Reeling after losing 3/4 games at home against the Red Sawx, I would have thought the Yanks would say, "we're still only 3 games out. Let's go!" And then tonight they go into Baltimore and you just don't see the focus and drive when this team' back is against the wall.

CC Sabbathia looks like he's broadcasting his pitches and teams are catching up.

Thought Joe was right in moving Alex up to #2. Granderson and Soriano back to back isn't a good idea. They're both streaky and too aggressive at the plate.

Dunno if this team has one last run in them but tell you this much, Yankees did the opposite of every thing they should have since the off season last year.

Yanks need help from the Sawx. If they can cut it to two, they have a decent shot to sneak in.

Not pretty but a win and Mo's 43rd save tying him for first in the AL. Meanwhile 3-3 tie in the 9th. Yanks need to cut that deficit to 2.

Again, if Pineda wasn't out for the second straight year then Hughes would be in the pen but this is what happened when Cashman rolled the dice. He's lucky Nova has been serviceable.

Hopefully the Yanks' offense can carry them. Btw Yanks go to Boston and Rays have the Twins. Ouch.
