Well, Cashman thought they could squeeze a season out of Youkalis who is a gritty player but apparently he trusted the SAME doctor who gave him advice on Jeter, Teixiera, and Pineda. There's a reason why Boston traded him to Chicago. They knew his back wasn't going to hold out much more.

The problem is, the FA crop this off season is really BAD. That means, the Yankee scouts are going to have to scout every part of the globe for replacements. Yes, the SAME scouts who couldn't give Cashman a good name outside of Hughes to draft in the last 13 years. The SAME front office that didn't go for Yu Darvish and other good quality youth.
Going to be a challenge.
