Unfortunately not the team though

I remember reading when George died that the Yanks, The Yes Network, and the new Stadium equated to something like 5-6 Billion in combined value. Looks the fam is continuing to cash out slowly on that figure.
Preemptively joining the Bucks and Twolves bandwagons.

Yeah and I bet you think James Dolan is interested in basketball.

Seriously? If you think Hal doesn't care or isn't interested in baseball, you really don't pay attention to anything. He clearly wants to win and is willing to pay money to do such that, as you clearly see the 400+million doled out on FA this off-season.

The YES network turned into something no one envisioned, it revolutionized the market. FOX already owned over 40% of the company, now they are the majority owner with the Yankees a minority owner. It makes sense in the business/operational aspect seeing that FOX runs network television and the Yankees run a baseball organization.

Also, for anyone who thinks the Steinbrenners are bad owners and want them to sell, the truth is the grass is not always greener on the other side. Its fair to say that 99% of all other teams would kill for the Steinbrenners to own there team.

EVERY owner wants to win...but to quote Sean Connery in the Untouchables, "What are YOU prepared to do?"

It took ONE season for Hal Steinbrenner to reverse that quote, "We're going to be fiscally responsible." Last season was a disaster in injuries, A-rod's side show, plummeting Cable viewership & ticket sales, and to add insult to injury the "replacement players" couldn't get a win for Mo on his the LAST game at Yankee stadium.

Then the final straw, the Red Sawx won the WS on duct tape line up. Pretty much PROVING Brian Cashman who was never a scout makes a better business lawyer than a GM.

THAT'S when the wallet opened up....but only AFTER complete humiliation.

Bottom line is, young Steinbrenner brothers live/die on profit margins. Something their old man never paid attention to. Think about how much easier the Yanks would have had if they paid attention to the age in the line up and the asking price for Yu Darvish and Yoenis Céspedes. They would have SAVED money in the long run.

Already the Yanks are being careful with Elsbury...their $$$$ investment after he strained his calf. Red Sawx are already laughing at Cashman who over paid for the kid.

I think if the Yanks win the WS in the next 2-3 seasons then the Steinbrenners will keep the team but if not, I think they will at least listen to offers...

Doesn't Nick Fury also say that to Thor in the Avengers movie?
