Damn, Vizcanio should of stayed in for 1 more innin, wtf brittion

No that wouldn't have been a good idea. Vizcaino had not pitched in almost 10 games before tonight. He was having back problems and just got over it. We need him healthy in the playoffs and for the Red Sox series more than we needed him to go another inning today. We just didn't have anyone else available. Out of all of our bullpen guys Britton is the only one that has had real success in the majors. Henn has been terrible and Bruney has been terrible this year. -Jitpal

Well Bruney has already blown 2 late inning games so far this year. So has Henn, Britton on the other hand hasn't and he was setting up for Chris Ray in Baltimore last year. The biggest flaw with our bullpen once Chamberlain came aboard and to a lesser extent Edwar is we don't have that guy who can come in for 3 innings and just shut down the other side. Britton could be that guy as he has done it before, earlier this year on a DeSalvo start in Chicago. I firmly believe you need 5 bullpen guys, a closer, 2 setup men, 1 lefty specialist and 1 long man who can hold the other team to runs. This year we have the closer and 3 setup men(which is a luxury) but no lefty specialist and no long man. Next year, I don't see us improving this too much either unless someone like Britton, Ohlendorf or a FA can settle into those spots. -Jitpal

Vizcaino wasn't going to come out for another inning. Neither Farns, Joba or Edwar was available. Joe didn't want to use Mo. Britton was the obvious choice.

Props to Ian freaking Kennedy. 7 IP, 1 H, 7 K.

Indeed, Kennedy dominated some pretty good hitters. Joba dominates. Wang dominates. Hughes is getting into a groove. Our future starting rotation is bright. -Jitpal
