you blaming Alex on that one ?

it was Georgy who didn't run it down properly and then it got mixed up, you rather he risk getting Wang in a take down situation ?

Agreed. A properly executed run-down should involve one throw maybe two before you tag the baserunner. A-Rod did the right thing by not having Wang risk injury. Everything that happened before was awful.

And Abreu needs to catch that triple. We're the only team that gives up triples to catchers.

Nice at-bat A-Rod. Let's get back some of those runs now!

What a miserable effort that last inning.

And people say having Abreu out there instead of Melky is better for the defense. :nonono: -Jitpal

Don't get me started again. Abreu/Melky is better than Melk/Linden or Melky/Thompson. Also No-wayh Lowry does not have a role on our team. Also, if you saw those videos of Linden in the field the first thing you would notice is the path he took to those balls. Whats that? He's a center fielder? the ball comes off the bat differently when you play the corners? Great, well he's gonna have to play a little left and right in New York. And you know what they say. Left Field at Yankee Stadium is like Center Field at another park

Melky isn't the greatest fielder either. I'd say he is about equal to Abreu defensively, but Abreu has the stronger arm.

Our best outfielder is Johnny Damon.

my man I understand that but today ain't the day for Abreu to get support I mean he pretty much misplayed a ball to the wall and let Laird go 1 to 3rd on him because he threw the ball at the ground

Thing is, Melky in right, catches that ball because he isn't scared of running into the wall. Melky does not make 2 really awful throws to home plate. Linden isn't the question. Linden would be the 4th outfielder. He isn't starting, Melky is starting. I actually did not get a chance to see any videos. Abreu is hurting us in the outfield and hurting us in the lineup. -Jitpal

But with our outfield, and injuries....we need a fourth outfielder. We don't need a 6th pitcher. We have that in Desalvo and Rasner....you've missed the bus my friend.

Have you seen Melky's throws to home? I mean, he doesn't exactly have the most accurate arm.

People here overrate Melky so much... he's got an above average, occasionally accurate arm. Abreu's arm is better than his. It's also more accurate than his, just not today.

Guys struggle for a month here and there. I think we should all be more afraid of Rivera right now than Abreu. Another quote from the past Month or so ago....

Melky's arm is not going to improve. He is what he is, he's been practing for years in both the minors and the majors.

We have nobody in our outfield who could be considered a plus outfielder.

Damn you dig deep.

Today was a rough day for Abreu and his defense. Still, it's one game. Let's not lose it here. I agree he needs to wake up but, knee-jerk reactions rarely work out for the better.

Are you kidding me?

Actually now that I think about it, you're absolutly right. Nobody improves when they come to the majors. They practice for life in the minors and majors and are who they are right when they arrive. :uhoh:

that comment from me was so we didn't have to buy Clemens to save anything , ofcourse now they did but thank god we haven't mortgage the farm , Abreu ain't the system and he's not going to get better than what he is. P.S. you dig realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll deep :)
