He's a future ace, people are scared to say so because he doesn't have a great frame such as Hughes or other aces. A plus fastball with a plus slider, and a developing breaking ball that should becomes a plus pitch. He has similar pitches to Randy Johnson. Obviously he isn't as tall and isn't a lefty so he will not be as good, but he can be a great pitcher in this league. If he and Betances work out, we will have 3 aces in our staff. Wang isn't a bad #4 and Kennedy isn't a bad #5 either. Then you can throw in guys like Brockman or Clippard should anybody not reach their potential.
Even if only half of our top pitching prospects reach their ceiling, there is still nothing holding us back from having arguably one of the best rotations in the majors down the road.

If he signs within the next week, he'll probably start in the Gulf Coast League, which starts June 19th.
However, I've heard rumblings that he is recovering from some injury and they may not even send him to the GCL this year and just let him recover.
He is looking like an easy sign though, and quick.

Sounds like he adjusted to the AA competition. Anyone think if Kennedy dominates AA and Clippard has a few more outings like today that Kennedy could be called up for a couple starts? -Jitpal
Nope, there is absolutely no chance of that. Kennedy isn't a Chase Wright type of "prospect" and the Yanks will take better care of Kennedy than they will Wright. They will let him get his starts in the minors and dominate each level like they did with Hughes and Clippard. They have a plan for all of their high-end prospects and they aren't going to diverge from that.

Man, stop with the Tim Battle updates
There is absolutely no chance he gets to the majors. He'll be released soon, or send to the mound. I love his potential and I look at his numbers occasionally, but he is a lost cause. He'll never turn into anything. He just can't hit a breaking ball at all.
Also AAA hitters are indeed awful. Matt Desalvo can't get any swings and misses at this level, and he strikes out 7 in 4 innings? That just goes to show you..
