I like Him. He brought me a lot of happiness in those years of his tenure. Towards the end I didnt like the way he handled the bullpen but personally I thought he was always personable, approachable, and open and honest with the media.

The man is a former media guy, so as much as I dont like that he through the organization under the bus so soon after leaving, its to be expected. He was treated well, but at the end they left him dangling the year before he left.

I understand the plight of Joe Torre with the Yankees wasn't easy. When his book first came out, my response was, "Let it breathe Joe..." In other words, he should have let some time go by before just letting loose. I think he's going to regret some of the things he's said. Old Timer's day is special and it's going to be a shame that Torre will never be there.

I think Mr. T was a good manager for a time but the Yanks badly needed a change. Fortunately Torre left so the Yanks didn't have to fire him....enter Girardi and the 27th WS title.

torre left in such a classless manner for an organization that put up with his ineptitude in the past decade. six should be retired... but probably when torre is about to die or apologizes profusely to the yankees for making the org look bad.

He should have been fired after the 2003 World Series. Sticking with Jeff Weaver in game 4 instead of going to Mo was absolute criminal.

He definitely should have been fired after 2004. Not bunting on Schilling in game 6, not trying to steal on Schilling. Not having a game 7 starter. Should have held off Mussina for one of the last two games.

Joe's stupidity cost the Yankees in 03 and 04.
