RIP George.

As a kid, I remember the CBS ownership days. Thank god, George revived this franchise and restored it to the glory it deserves.

Thank You George Steinbenner.

He took a historic, but struggling franchise and turned it into one of the world's biggest franchises and had a hand in creating amazing memories for millions of fans, both Yankee and baseball in all, around the world for nearly 4 decades. I'll definitely miss the man. R.I.P.

Since I was born in 1984, I was too young to really remember the years of the tyrannical, foolhardy George and got to come of age during the years of the George who (generally) let his baseball people do their thing and was happy to sign checks and bask in the glory. I don't know if the dynasty of the 90s happens without George's willingness to pay to keep his elite players and to import talent from outside the organization. Because of his determination to field a winning team, we've got 5 titles in 14 years, a cable network, a beautiful new stadium and the money to put together top-flight teams well into the future.

RIP King George...I wonder if Jeffrey Loria will try to pocket the hors d'oeuvres at your funeral.

He was on his last leg the last time we saw him in the public. It's only fitting that he'd wait for Bob Sheppard to pass first so he could be announced in heaven.

RIP George, Thanks for EVERYTHING!
