he turns 35

you know, i think the yanks might need to take the Celts approach to these older guys: let em play like 4 out of 5, or 5 out of 6, but give them breaks, this way they can be fresh for playoffs and have a sucessful career thru the life of the contract

Its going to be tough to do that unless we open up a bit of a lead on the Rays, which doesn't seem very likely right now. That would be ideal though, because it would also means ABs for guys like Montero and Nunez so that they can show a little of what they can do. Who knows, a guy like Montero can hold his own and earn a spot as our pinch hitter throughout the playoffs...we need someone with pop off the bench and the only thing preventing that from being Montero right now is that he must play everyday, but in October the only place where he can play is up here.

well thats why i brought up the CElts example, if it means not winning the division and getting the wild card, its worth it to have the vets as healthy as possible...this team is experienced to win on the road, just like celts, i wasnt talkin bout this year specifically thou

i know its different sports, but I think the analogy holds some water
