Good stretches? You mean he will throw 1 gem in between 6 flat out suck starts where he puts the Yankees far out of the game in the 1st inning? That is not a stretch. That is a blind squirrel finding an acorn every now and then. BJ is the suck. I am sick of looking forward to Yankee games and having to watch this guy pitch. the game gets turned off after 1 lousy inning.

Not this year. Dodgers are only several games out of the playoff race. Plus he isn't going to clear waivers by the time the Yankees can put in a claim.

He has had a real spike in his velocity this season, it was always in the low 90s throughout his minor league career. His control has also been much better. His 2009 BB/9 was 3.9, in 2010 it is 2.9. His K/9 in 2009 was 5.8, in 2010 7.1. Maybe something mechanical helped him in terms of both velocity and control, but whatever it is has made him a different pitcher.

Or it's that B-12 shot he got last season, kidding...I love this Nova kid. It's not his stuff but his pitch selection. He knows who to pitch vs most guys who have a gun for an arm and know how to throw. Mixing pitches is just as important if not more when your best stuff isn't working.

Girardi almost fu*ked the game in the bottom of the 6th. He Pulls Nova and puts in Boom Logan vs. Pierzynski who pooches it, Wood then walks Ramirez, wild pitch, then finally gets Teahen.

This Nunez kid has some pop but as a fielder, he's meh...

I love tight wins, they test a team's character. Yanks needed a gritty win to show that they can rise to the occasion without two of their biggest bats A-rod and Teixiera.

Now the Dodgers are 10 games out of first, if they put Lilly on waivers, I hope the Yanks slim chances still prevail because I would love to see him in AJ's Spot. Lilly would be perfect between CC and Pettitte, then you could flip flop AJ and Vasquez.

Well it's a good thing Nova wasn't included in the Berkman deal, it really would suck watching him pitch well for the Astros as Berkman sits on the DL. Nice performance from him. I thought Girardi should have left him in the game to try to finish off the 6th, but it didn't hurt them in the end. Thames is really playing well right now, great to see him stepping up with Pettite, A-Rod, and Berkman out.
