There really is no one else. Grienke would cost Montero + Hughes, which would not be an overall improvement to the team. I'm telling you, Cashman is going to be signing Victor Martinez this winter. -Jitpal

what happens if lee resigns with Tex?

then NYY is kinda screwed, we'd have to wait for the young players to develop, which is a hassle with the growing pains, innings limit, etc

The Yankees won't be outbid especially now that Hicks is no longer the owner. If money is Lee's biggest factor, then he will be a Yankee. If he puts Texas above money, perennial championship opportunities and personal friendships with guys like CC Sabathia, then he will be a Ranger. -Jitpal

Then you do what you have to do, develop your young guys and try to get gritty guys to surround the talent that this team still has. The problem with just trying to buy championships is you get a bunch of expensive guys that are talented but that may not really have to will to pull the sleeves up and get down and dirty when things aren't going your way. Thats what made the Yankee teams during the last dynasty great...not talent...not just pure "bought stars" but guys that don't back down, don't give up, hate to lose and who will grind and grind and grind to the end.
