I no we are all hurt yankees did not advance. If you are a baseball fan you would watch WS regardless if your team advances or not. Yankees and Phillies not going to WS is good for baseball fans and baseball in generall (besides the low ratings)
I am cheering for Ron and Bruce they both deserve it more than girardi whose (Please Use More Appropriate Word) decisions have cost this team the series

There are two things I find interesting about this matchup. One, Bengie Molina is guaranteed a World Series ring this year. Two, the Giants beat the Phillies so the dynasty talk about them can cease. -Jitpal

Chris Ray is also guaranteed a WS ring, he was the one we traded Bengie for.

I am sort of confused. How is he guarantted ? He was traded to rangers July 1. So unless there is a rule where players get a ws if they are on team by certain date.
Can you clarify it ?
Thanks

Basically everyone involved in a World Series team gets a ring. So if they play one inning for a team, or are even just on the roster, they will get a ring for being part of the championship. Molina was traded from the Giants to the Rangers mid-season. Thus, if the Rangers win, Molina gets a ring from the Rangers. If the Giants win (hopefully), Molina will get a ring from the Giants. -Jitpal

good point about the phillies.. dynasties usually have streaks... Like the yankees 3 ws wins in a row and 4 out of 5... the talk of the phillies and dynasty was getting a bit ridiculous...LOL

i was reading an article: the phillies got exposed...thanks to advanced scouting, pitchers stopped throwing them fastballs in fastball counts and went to the offspeed stuff.....hence, so many times this year their O was anemic compared to years b4

Boo hoo, remember when Tex and Sabathia's wife didn't want to be in NY either? It doesn't mean anything. Money > Vitriol. -Jitpal

Lee actually said in an interview (about the fans saying vulgar things AND spitting on his wife) that it doesn't matter (to whether he'd not consider NY as a result)...basically saying that you can't blame a team for a few knuckleheaded fans.
Smart/obvious response obviously since even if it did bother him and turn him off to actually signing with the Yankees, he would still want the Yankees in play to help drive his price up.
Assuming this (that he's just going to use the Yankees)...what are the other options? Trade for Grienke (talk is that they'll want both Montero and Nova) seems like the other option to get a top line pitcher but have to wonder if Grienke (who had a real subpar season this year after the great year he had last year) can actually handle NY and won't turn into another (insert all the pitching failures the Yankees have had in recent memory).

I'm not a huge Grienke guy, the kid has a ton of talent but he has had mental issues in the past. To his credit, he overcame them but I wonder if putting him in NY would bring some of them back. It probably wouldn't be the best situation for him or for the Yankees. Soria on the other hand, I would trade for him in a heartbeat.
Obviously the big guys I would love to get would be Felix Hernandez and Josh Johnson. They would probably cost Montero + to get and I'm not even sure if they are available. After that, there really aren't any top notch guys out there. -Jitpal

I think Grienke has a no trade clause for big market cities such as NY. Stay away from him as talented as he is.
