Yup as soon as I read that, I knew right away, the Yanks better have 200 million in a pillow somewhere. Boras is the most hated agent in MLB.

If I were Cano, I would hire Boras too.

it'll make interesting negotiations

would any1 consider dealing cano in another year to avoid paying him 150+? isnt there a chance of him reverting to bad habits (ahem lazy) once he really gets paid?

Cashman said some anti-boras stuff with the A-Rod negotiations. Then he signed Tex the next winter. Honestly, Boras and Cash need each other. Boras needs a trump card and Cash needs access to the top free agents.

Maybe you could deal Cano, but the truth is you would need a lot back. You need to be able to get a top flight, can't miss prospect back. You need a guy who can step in and play a lockdown 2nd (especially with Jeter at SS) and has a pretty decent bat. If the other offensive guys deteriorate further, then I can't see how you can deal him. He is just too important. Covers up some of Jeter's defensive deficiencies and he is the only big time hitter on the upswing in the lineup. -Jitpal

That Arod thing was such a sham. He just took the bullet for Arod, he still got his money. Arod is going to tell all his buddies that his agent took the bullet for him and got him all the money. Boras is going to look even better in the eyes of other players.

Oh and Swisher didn't hire Boras. The rumor was out there that he did. He hired Pujol's agent, Dan Lazano or something. -Jitpal
