I'll definitely take this type of outing from Nova, and good to see Joba putting in some efficient 7th inning work. Also, props to Russell Martin for trying to secure his place before Cervelli comes back.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

I like what I see from Nova. I think he can get better as the season goes on too. I still don't have confidence in this rotation after CC, but the pieces are there.

And the bullpen is awesome. Automatic.

I suppose, but I am a bit curious as to how Girardi envisioned the rotation between the two headed into the season. Although he was always the starter, Martin could likely be securing far more starts than might have been previously thoughts.

7-8-9, bing, bang, boom. Joba, Soriano, Rivera look like a nice little trio.

yea you have to be worried about the rotation after CC....but there is nothing to do for the next 2 months, until the trade market develops

whats worrisome bout nova is getting hit in the middle part of the game, i dont think its a confidence thing(which is widely reported)....i just dont think he hides his delivery well enough, and the 2nd time around, hitters pick up on it a bit better

He actually did better than he was last year, where he'd have 4 or 5 good innings and then implode..he managed to fight his way through it, so I see progress. Maybe I'm being optimistic but I like his potential.

If anything I'm more concerned about Hughes right now, who still can't adjust at all.

How many times has ESPN said, this is the NEXT Rivera?

Eric Gagne, K-Rod, Billy Wagner, Joel Zumaya, Johnathan Papelbon... the list goes on and on. Here is this man who is the consummate professional. Doesn't fist pump, doesn't point to God after a run of the mill save, doesn't have the FANCY glasses....

Mariano Rivera goes out there, gets it done. That light stride out of the pen...it's like taking the garbage out of the house and then going to work.

AMAZING.

I know people are gonna say that it's hindsight, but the moment I saw Soriano in there i questioned the move. Sabathia had reitred 17 straight and was at 104. He could have gone another inning.. mehh,, whatever.

a bases loaded blooper that drives home 3 runs.. rofl..

CC is just a tough luck pitcher so far.. retires 17 in a row and girardi takes him out..

why even take out CC?

It's Girardi's fault Soriano couldn't hit the strike zone?

I saw this coming.. a light hitting, bloop hitting twins team will get a win, they do not deserve by any stretch of the imagination..
