I really hate seeing Nick Swisher at the 2 hole.

that is epic fail... swisher and jeter back to back.. bases loaded, one out, jeter strikes out, swisher grounds out on the first pitch.. we can't have he and jeter at the top of the order.. just can't!!!

The difference in this game was men on base when the big hits happen. Cano's were solo shots. The Jays got big his at the right time.

As for swisher being #2...it has to do with using Nick to milk pitches so Teixiera can get back on track. Swish milked 24 pitches, which is more than any Yankee tonight and most nights.

Tough loss but again, Yanks were in this game despite Garcia's off night. Tampa lost, time to get back on track.

posada is hitting worse than a pitcher and what you see in jeter today is what he is, a .250 hitter. i think the best case scenario is maybe .260 to .270.

Brett Gardner is also hitting worse than a pitcher .188 and he's 12 years younger than Posada. What's his excuse?

ONCE AGAIN...I said at the beginning of the season that AJ Burnett would have a bounce back year. Hey, man's marriage **** his skull last summer but what I love about it, it wasn't in ANY paper. Meaning AJ took the brunt of it from the FANS and the media. Now, that doesn't make him better pitcher but it shows to me that this guy takes responsibility for his performance. Today wasn't pretty but he held on till the pen could finish the Jays off.

GASP...could it be? A Soriano sighting putting up a ZERO?!?!?!

Guys, be FAIR. I read all the insults, give some love as well.

jeter needs to be in the 9th spot

posada needs to be on the bench, only used when u need a desperate HR late

still not comfortable with soriano, he gave up that deep flyball

burnett got the W, but he really wasnt that sharp...its not some1 I would trust out there everyday

i dont really think loyalty or friendship should factor into posada at all...hes declined, and forced the yanks to give him the 4 yr contract instead of 3...well now we know why, he is in the 4th yr and looks AWFUL out there

some of you might say it is still early in the season but it is not just this season. Jeter has been hitting .250 for a year now, dating back to last season. Posada is hitting so bad now that he has no where to go but up, but how high up? On the bright side, maybe this will open up opportunities for some of the young guys in the minor.

Who bats lead off? Remember before the pitcher gets to Teixiera, A-Rod, and Cano he's already milked for 12-15 pitches. This is why the second time around the order is when the offense pounds the opposition.

There's more to a player than fantasy stats or saber metrics. Yes, Jeter's best days are behind him but his awareness is still as sharp as ever.

Getting back to Gardner, the PLAN if you remember was to bat Gardner lead off and give Jeter more days off (much how A-Rod is given days off). Unfortunately, Gardner is hitting .50 points less than Jeter so now, the team has to play Jeter MORE.

Hey, you can't have every thing in life...Ask yourself how would you like to be the Red Sox right now? Love ESPN giving that team a free pass but if the Yanks were struggling would be headlines every day.

Another solid 8th inning by Soriano. He's got a nice swagger about him that I like to see in a closer/set-up man.

Sans a few bad innings sprinkled throughout the season, Nova's been quite stellar.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

And A-rod is 3 for 23 in his last 7 games hitting .130...but it's as irrelevant as Jeter because the Yanks are winning series. If I am not mistake the only series the Yanks haven't taken is the one in Boston. NOT BAD for the first month done in the league.

I don't have any problems with you using Jeter as your whipping boy but spread the blame.

The most reliable bat for the world champion SF Giants was Aubrey Huff and Renteria (someone they didn't want back at first). Neither of those guys hit over .300...vets don't have to be the main cog in order to win.

A-rod, despite his recent slump, is still hitting .290 and slugging .600, not to mention his 125 RBIs last season. I'm picking on Jeter because he is the only one that is hitting .250 for a year. if he is hitting .250 this year then what is going to happen next year and the year after that.
